Motion Characterization with Inertial Sensors: Technological Battle for Rehabilitation

INTER-REPAR Summer School 2018

From Sunday, June 3rd 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until Wednesday, June 6th 2018

Interdisciplinary Institute for Technological Innovation (3IT), Université de Sherbrooke

This invitation is sent to students from 2nd, 3rd graduate, postdoctoral fellows or clinicians, who are members of INTER (Engineering Interactive Technologies for Rehabilitation), REPAR (Quebec Rehabilitation Research Network) or from our partners in France. To nurture your interest in rehabilitation technologies, the INTER-REPAR Summer School 2018 will allow you to leverage your expertise in your respective fields and to live an interdisciplinary experience on the use of inertial sensors for motion characterization in rehabilitation. During this activity, as a participant, you will learn how to :

  • Determine et understand users’ needs of inertial sensors in rehabilitation;
  • Learn about or develop measurement algorithms that can process data from inertial sensors to derive specific metrics;
  • Test and characterize devices in various conditions and generate data for validation and characterization;
  • Demonstrate the use of devices equipped with inertial sensors to validate and identify potential usages.

Summer school’s activities consist of seminars, experiments, practical and networking activities, all done in conviviality and learning atmosphere.

All fees related to this activity will be assumed by INTER and REPAR according the usual guidelines, except for participants outside Québec who will have to cover their traveling expenses. The planned accommodation is based on double occupancy for students, and single for network researchers.
